Monday 11/7 Castleman 201 @noon

This Monday the UConn Institute of Transportation Engineers is holding their annual preliminary contest for the intercollegiate traffic bowl. If you like competition, transportation and opportunity for free travel (NY and GA) then please rsvp to uconnite@gmail.com to attend the event.

Teams of three compete in a jeopardy-style contest of transportation-related questions. The winner will go on to defend UConn’s title of regional champion on 11/17 in Queens, NY. The winner of the regional contest will get an all-expenses paid trip to Atlanta, GA to compete nationally!

  Karen Giese, P.E. and Vice-President of Product Management for PTV America, Inc. will be this wee’s  guest speaker  for the University of Connecticut’s Transportation Seminar Series.  PTV America, Inc. produces the widely-used VISSIM software used for transportation modeling. Ms. Giese is the 2009 recipient of ITE’s Young Consultant Award. The lecture will be in the UTEB building Room 150 starting at 12:00 pm.

Do you suck at selling your self to an interviewer as much as we do?

Brian Schwarz  will be offering his expertise to  UConn ITE members and other engineering students (ITE get 10% off 😉 )By conducting one-on-one interviews infront of an audience of peers. After each interview, Brian will give a post-game analysis of the responses and offer suggestions and tips.

The event will take place Monday, November 15th 2010: in Castleman 306.
