Transportation for American recently released it’s campaign plan for the 2009 Transportation Bill.  It is very interesting, giving background on the current problems, possible solutions and explains that our current situation allows us a unique opportunity to have a new beginning.  The post on streetsblog is included and a link to the pdf of the campaign plan can be seen as well.

ITE District 1 Annual Meeting

The link below contains information about the ITE District Annual Meeting in Saratoga Springs, NY on May 13th to 15th.  They are looking for more abstracts for presentation.  They will cover lodging and transportation costs if you are accepted.  I will be submitting and hopefully presenting and it looks like a fairly interesting event, similar to a mini TRB conference.  If you are interested in submitting you can email your abstract to Kelly Thompson (kthompso@tvga.com).

Streetsblog

I know that this site has been sent out at some point during the year, but I thought I would post it here as well.  Streetsblog is a network of blogs from various cities and regions.  It was started in New York City and streetsblog.org link you to that site.  To locate the streetblog’s for other areas you can use the tabs at the top which go to Los Angeles and San Fransico or click the national blog network to see blogs that users have recommended be included in the network.  The blog topics cover many areas including policy and planning. Enjoy.
